I love sleuth work--Matlock was one of my favorite shows when I was growing up (at least when I was allowed to watch TV) and I used to consume mystery books the way Garfield eats lasagna.  One of my favorite reading sites is footnoted.org which is a finance/business oriented blog that speculates about various companies based on their SEC filings and other news items.  It is often entertaining and definitely demonstrates the value of reading between the lines.
