Thinking....
Have you ever been driving in the car and you are almost home when a nostalgic song starts playing on the radio?Tonight on my little commute home this happened to me. I can't remember the name of the song, only the lyrics "in the city" but I knew almost all the words. I turned up the volume and sang along, even sitting in my car, parked in the driveway while I finished my serenade. It really got me thinking about the simple things in life and how something so trivial, that costs nothing can make me so happy. The other interesting thing that happened today was on my drive home I saw the most amazing cresent moon. It was at the bottom, almost like a little smile, and you could still see the faint outline, almost black of the whole circular moon. It was pretty incredible really--I wish I had a camera (and cook take pictures while driving) so I could share it. When you think about the moon and the stars sometimes it is hard not to feel so insignificant.Anyway, I am finally back after a bit of a hiatus. I took a nice long vacation in Mexico. We want to Los Cabos on the pacific side and ti was amazing. Besides the 80+ degree weather and the fabulous company, I got to travel somewhere I had never been. I really enjoyed myself. I don't know if we will go back there soon (although I certainly wouldn't object if I could have unlimited vacation time) but it was a very nice place to visit. Now I really want to go to Thailand, other parts of Asia, or Costa Rica.It would be wonderful to move to one of these places. When you are on vacation you truly don't get to explore the best parts of the city. For example, someone visiting Seattle might see the space needle or Pike's Market, but they would miss things like my favorite little tea house in the international district that has the most amazing teas and comfy couch, and a distinct aurora that makes you feel like you have stepped back in time. You would also likely miss the little garden part way up Queen Anne hill that is so beautiful in the spring time, or what a breathtaking view it is to watch the sunrise as you run along the city streets. The truly wonderful things about any city are often hidden from view and you only true experience after being somewhere long enough.Anyway, enough deep thoughts for now. Life is good and I am glad to be back. :)
