Vacation and Progress (or lack thereof in both cases)
So over the weekend I was supposed to be in LA on vacation. It was a great trip, got to see lots of family and had a good time. Although work called all weekend and that really put a damper on things. I felt stressed and busy the whole time and then I realized I haven't taken a vacation longer than 5 days ever. Yes, that is right, I haven't taken more than 3 consecutive days off of work. What does that say about me? I have been thinking a lot about it because I am supposed to take a 10 day vacation in October, and to be truthful I have so much anxiety over the time off I keep considering canceling the trip. I think I need to learn how to relax in general. As for the workout progress, well, I successfully completed my 3rd week of workouts--but the scale hasn't really moved. Since I was working out previously I know that it isn't that fat has turned to muscle, I honestly think I have been eating more than I am burning, and it seems my workouts are making more hungry. I need to figure out how to get my portions under control and just cut back on how much I am eating in general. I think I may start keeping a food diary and see how that goes. One other interesting thing to note is that lately I have been a lot more interested in watching Bloomberg in the mornings and reading Business Week over Life and Style. I am really beginning to love finance and have been spending a ton of time reading financial and investment blogs, websites, and seeking information from my friends. I really think this is where I want to take my career in the future. I don't have a plan just yet, but I will keep updating with all the neat tips and tricks I am finding along the way.
